Customer Loyalty Programs Through Affiliate Marketing

One of the marketing theories that holds so true is that it is easier to retain an existing customer than try to acquire a new one. And from this theory, customer loyalty programs were developed.

Online affiliate marketing has enabled affiliate publishers to jump on the consumer bandwagon and include customer loyalty programs on their websites.

An example of a customer loyalty program is Amazon.com’s Amazon Prime. This is a membership program that Amazon members can sign up for to avail of free and fast shipping of the items they purchase on the site. A non-Prime member would usually get his ordered item after 7 days. But a Prime member has the privilege of getting his item overnight, free of charge or at a good discount. As an affiliate marketer, Amazon earns from this membership program through the annual fee its members pay.

Consumers get a kick out of enrolling in membership programs if not for the good deals, but for the preferential treatment he gets versus a non-member. All customers like feeling special, after all. This feeling motivates them to use the services of the website more often.

As long as customers enjoy feeling special, which will always be the case, affiliate marketers can continue to capitalize on customer loyalty programs.
